Thigh Lift in Nashville

Office Located in Brentwood, TN

Overview

Over time, age and diminished skin elasticity can cause inner and outer thighs to lose firmness and overall shape. This is often exaggerated by weight gain and loss. Along with sagging skin and loss of shape, the thighs can be an area where fat collects. For many individuals, especially women, these fatty deposits do not respond well to diet and exercise. This procedure combines liposuction with the removal of excess skin for improved appearance and contour of the thighs.

Your Consultation

At the time of your consultation, you will meet with your chosen board-certified surgeon who will talk with you about your goals and the best way to achieve your desired outcomes. Our goal is to make sure every one of your questions is answered and you feel comfortable with your knowledge of the procedure. In your initial consultation, one of our surgeons will evaluate your health, discuss your medical history, determine the extent of loose skin in your thigh and buttock region, and carefully assess your skin tone. They will then review your goals and make recommendations based on his evaluation. The techniques used in the thigh lift procedure will be described in detail, and informational materials will be provided. Be sure to tell him if you smoke or are taking any medications, vitamins or other drugs.

We have three Patient Care Coordinators who work closely with you through your entire time in our practice, serving as your resource for any questions or concerns you have along the way. After your time talking to the surgeon, your Patient Coordinator will provide you with a detailed, written estimate of surgical fees for your procedure when you have your initial consultation at Cool Springs Plastic Surgery in Nashville, Tennessee. She will assist you in selecting a date for your surgery, convenient for your schedule. Your Patient Care Coordinator will also inform you about all payment options available in our office. Information regarding “Payment Options” are detailed under the “About” tab at the top of our web page.

Thigh Lift Surgery: What to Expect

In most cases, surgery will be performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. However, each patient’s circumstances and extent of the surgery goals will dictate whether the procedure is in our outpatient. The surgery will typically last two to five hours but can be longer. An adult should escort you on the day of surgery and remain with you at home for the first 24 hours.

It is common to experience drainage from your incisions the first night after surgery. Walking during the first 48 hours is strongly recommended, as tolerated. Showering is permitted 48 hours after surgery. Climbing stairs or other activities that produce stress or tension across the wounds should be avoided for the first 72 hours.

You should be able to return to work within one week after surgery if you have a desk-type job. Those with jobs that involve prolonged periods of standing, walking or heavy lifting may need to wait three weeks. Vigorous activities or aerobic exercise should not be resumed until after three weeks.

Risks

Risks of this surgery are low but include: bleeding and infections. Smokers should discontinue smoking three weeks prior to the surgery, as smoking increases the risk of complications and delays healing by altering blood circulation in the skin. You can reduce the risk of complications by closely following our instructions before and after surgery. Blood clots in the leg may occur and if dislodged to the heart can be fatal. Fluid collections may also rarely occur requiring drainage.

Thigh Lift Costs

Your Patient Coordinator will provide you with a detailed, written estimate of fees for your procedure when you have your initial consultation at Cool Springs Plastic Surgery. Your “Estimate of Surgical Fees” will include: surgeon’s fee, operating room and the anesthesiologist’s fee.
